The Doctorate signifies a proven ability to conduct independent scientific research. Under the auspices of the Combined Faculty of Mathematics, Engineering and Natural Sciences, we confer the academic degree Dr. rer. nat. in the subjects of mathematics and computer science.

Mathematics and Computer Science — Announcement

Summer term 2023: Training for Tutors

The University's Competence and Language Center will continue to offer training for tutors in the summer term 2023.

The entire didactics training for tutors is divided into three modules:

  • Module I comprises an online module for the development of didactic basics and own concept work.  It will include both face-to-face sessions via videoconference and e-learning elements and will address, among other things, the design of digital tutorials.
  • Module II consists of the implementation of the tutorial.
  • Module III serves to reflect on and deepen what has been learned. The tutors will receive accompanying support through collegial feedback and practical consultations.

In the summer term 2023, two dates will be offered for the basic training (Module I):

Course A: 20.03.-24.03.2023 Teaching Certificate All Subjects (blended learning course)

20.03.2023 from 09:30-12:00 (video event)
22.03.2023 from 09:30-12:30 (live event at Bergheimer Straße 20, room 314)
24.03.2023 from 09:30-12:30 (live event at Bergheimer Straße 20, room 314)


Course B: 27.03.-31.03.2023 Teaching Certificate all subjects (online course)

Video conference dates:

29.03.2023 from 09:30-10:30
31.03.2023 from 09:30-12:00

Registration should be made at least 14 days before the course starts. Participation in the qualification is free of charge for subjects and students in the standard program.
